Custom Made

Custom Made, a 17.2 hand dark bay Thoroughbred gelding, was foaled in Ireland in 1985 and is owned by Xandarius, LLC (Mr. Joseph Zada).

His accomplishments speak for themselves, most notably, America’s first Eventing Gold Medal in a quarter of a century at the 2000 Sydney games. He was promptly named USCTA Horse of the Year in 2000.

Custom Made also won the Badminton CCI**** in 1997, arguably the world’s most difficult three-day event. In the same year, he was on the 4th placed European Championship team at Burghley. He finished 5th at the Atlanta Olympics as an individual and was also third that year at Badminton. In 1995 David and Custom Made won the Rolex CCI***.

Custom Made won his very last competition, the Fair Hill International CCI*** in 2002. He was officially retired in a ceremony at the 2004 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, and happily resides at Stonehall Farm, not far from David, with his buddy, Giltedge.
